Initial Research; Rolling Stone

Rolling Stone Magazine.

Genre; Rock/Hip-Hop
Audience; Mainly Male readers, between the ages of 20 and 40. Their psychographics could be either Radicals, Traditionalists and/or Underachievers. Their social values would be either traditionalists or Materialists.
On the Jicnar scale, I believe the audience of this magazine would be as high as C1, and as low as E, as the magazine does not depend on the class of the reader but their musical taste, making the audiences Jicnar scale varied.
The cover of this magazine uses a blank white background. This makes it easy to draw attention to the main sell; the large image of rock band Green Day. This attracts the audience, as the reader of this magazine is more than likely going to be a fan of this band, therefore; going to pick up the magazine.
The other stories are of such interest to the audience; a confession of the well known Eminem will also attract and possibly widen the audience of the magazine, as if they are not a fan of Green Day (the main sell), but are a fan of Eminem, they may also buy the magazine.
The 'Summer Concert Guide' also keeps the readers interest, as the chance to buy 'cheap' concert tickets will make the audience wish to buy the magazine, as they are saving money.
The colour scheme of the magazine is simple; White and Red. This contrast attracts the readers attention, as although White is a bland colour, Red is bright and attractive, making it stand out on a shelf of other magazines.
